Christine Wintle

Christine Wintle has taught in independent girls schools for over twenty years and is a strong advocate for Home Economics education in Victoria. She is currently Head of Home Economics and Hospitality at Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC), teaching VCE Food and Technology and Home Economics 9-10.

Her interest in visible teaching and learning began at Tintern Schools where she worked closely with Colleen Abbott to identify and introduce thinking dispositions within curriculum. Her journey continues at MLC after having joined the ITHAKA project and being greatly inspired by the work of John Hattie and Ron Ritchhart. She recently became one of the co-authors of two VCE Food and Technology text books and this experience has enabled her to reflect and articulate her own thinking about learning.
